VTCT Level 4 Award in Core of Knowledge for Laser & Light
Overview
The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners to progress to further qualifications within the field of laser, IPL and LED application. This could be for hair removal, skin rejuvenation, tattoo removal or medical applications. It also provides learners with the personal growth and engagement that sits alongside learning a new skill.
What You Will Learn
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop knowledge on the characteristics of laser, IPL and LED radiation and skin tissue reaction to laser, IPL and LED application. Additionally learners will cover hazards and precautions, safety management, safe product sourcing, risk assessments, quality assurance and relevant and associated legislation influencing the purchase and use of laser and light devices. Learners will also gain an understanding of the safe working practices required in order to protect themselves and their clients when applying laser and light devices.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal prerequisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification.
Assessment , Duration and Progression
To obtain this qualification learners will undertake an online theory exam. This examination will be set and marked by VTCT (ITEC).
Assessments - 1 Online Exam (MCQ). This can be sat remotely from home, under controlled examination conditions in accordance with policies and procedures for external assessment.
Duration: self paced, can be commenced anytime up to 6 months after enrolment.
Progression - This qualification is to prepare learners to further develop their knowledge and skills by completing supplementary specialist qualifications in one or more of the following areas:
Level 4 Laser & IPL
Level 4 Laser for Skin rejuvenation
Level 5 Tattoo Removal
