Overview
The VTCT Skills (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Skin Peeling is an advanced therapy qualification aimed at level 3 qualified practitioners aged 18 and over, who wish to add this therapy to their repertoire of treatment offerings.
What You Will Learn
The aim of this qualification is to develop the learner’s knowledge, understanding and practical skills when using superficial skin peel products and techniques to rejuvenate the condition of the skin. Learners will acquire skills involved in providing a thorough consultation, skin health checks to establish the client’s suitability for treatment and to formulate a specific treatment plan tailored to suit individual client needs. Learners will prepare and apply a range of skin peels as well as providing the relevant pre and post care.
Learners must achieve the following mandatory unit:
Provide Skin Peeling Treatments
Using Mesoestetic products
Entry Requirements
A qualification in level 3 Beauty Therapy, level 2 in Facial Skincare and a qualification in level 3 Anatomy and Physiology (or equivalent). Learners need to be capable of producing written evidence to the required standard and have a good level of English.
Assessment , Duration and Progression
To obtain this qualification learners will undertake a blended series of methods, including, self-study, practical assessments, case studies, online exams and written assignments. All practical assessments require learners to work on each other and on clients/live models. Learners must meet all criteria to achieve certification.
Assessments - 1 Online Exams (MCQ), 6 Case studies + 1 End point Assessment (practical exam)
Duration: 5 weeks, part-time (1 day a week)
Progression - This qualification is to prepare learners for employment in the advanced aesthetic industry providing skin needling techniques. Additionally, learners may choose to further develop their knowledge and skills by completing supplementary specialist qualifications at level 4 and above in one or more of the following areas:
Level 4 in Skin Needling
Level 4 in Radio Frequency
Level 4 in Ultrasound
