Course Overview
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant health and safety requirements, anatomy, physiology, and pathology and electrical science, alongside skin analysis and safe practice treatment protocols for facial skin care. Learners will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required to consult with clients, and provide specific aftercare and home care advice.
This course is ideal for learners who wish to gain access to additional study of advanced therapy treatments at levels 4 and above.
What Does This Qualification cover?
This qualification consists of units at level 2 and 3 combined to provide the learner with the required underpinning knowledge to afford direct progression onto specific modality training at level 4 +.
The following mandatory units much be achieved:
Maintain health and safety in the salon
Skin analysis and facial skincare
Consultation and client care
Anatomy, physiology and pathology
Electrical science
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however learners need to be capable of producing evidence to the required standard and have a good level of English.
Assessment , Duration and Progression
To obtain this qualification learners will undertake a blended series of methods, including, self-study, practical assessments, case studies, online exams and written assignments. All practical assessments require learners to work on each other and on clients/live models. Learners must meet all criteria to achieve certification.
Assessments - 5 Online Examinations (MCQ) and 6 practical assessments.
Duration: 8 weeks - 1 day per week, part-time (9.30am - 4.30pm)
Progression: The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for additional study at level 4+ in the beauty aesthetic industry. Achievement of this qualification will enable learners to further develop their knowledge and skills by completing additional specialist qualifications at Level 4 and 5, for example:
Level 4 Award in Skin Peeling
Level 4 Award in Skin Needling
Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Therapies for Skin Rejuvenation
Level 4 Award in Dermaplaning
Level 4 Award in High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)
Level 4 Award in Scalp Micropigmentation
Level 5 Award in Micropigmentation for Camouflage and Restoration
